2007 H2 SUT won't shift into high gear. Delight advice/assist
Houston, we have a problem!
I have an 2007 H2 SUT with~ 80K miles that I have ain for about a twelvemonth. Information technology has been running fine untill about a week ago when information technology just would not shift by tertiary gear. It besides has problem shift from 2nd to third too. To reach threescore mph, the engine RPM is almost 5K. AFAIK, there has been no modification or tuning done to the engine. Since I am not remotely anywhere as knowledgeable as a mechanic, I accept no idea what'due south going on. Please help. Cheers in advance.

Bank check engine light on? Could be every bit easy equally just shift solenoids. Y'all have a ane-2 and a 3-4 solenoid. Take replaced both of mine for it not going into first. Then once again difficult to tell with just what yous have explained. Try hit an auto parts store or at worst case a dealer to encounter if at that place is any codes stored. I know AAMCO's used to advertise running codes for gratis. Not certain if they all the same do that

They are in the trans on the valve body. Once you drop the pan, they are higher up the filter. Could be some codes stored and not throw the light. Have had it happen before

I ask considering I am also seeing odd beliefs from my '05'due south transmission, or at least I believe it's transmission-related: At around 43-47 mph it feels as though the torque converter doesn't desire to lock up properly, and this gets worse when the trans temp gets upwardly effectually 200 degrees. When it's fully hot, the behavior can occur at speeds from effectually 37-38 upward to over 50mph. I accept also noticed that the trans sometimes has problem fully shifting into gear from park, where I'll shift, I'll feel it engage, but when I footstep on the gas it hesitates for a second, moves sluggishly, so something happens that feels like it fully connects upwardly and and so information technology works usually. I'grand really concerned that I'g going to have to have the damn thing rebuilt or I'll have to purchase a reman unit and bandy, and that's a big clamper of money.

Mine doing similar, another forum says information technology'south feature of the torque converters used on the 4L6x'south in the earlier trucks. Guy on the same forum inverse his for other reasons and says shifts are crisper, improve acceleration, less hunting.

WOW, here it is 2020 and now my 2007 SUT is doing the same thing. It feels like I just have 1st and 4th gear. I wish he would take posted what was the gear up. I am going to endeavour to read the lawmaking but if annihilation I demand to change the fluid anyways. And then I might also alter the solenoids.
